Can noise-induced deafness be cured? What precautions?

Noise-induced hearing loss is a progressive hearing loss caused by long-term noise stimulation. The degree of damage is mainly related to the intensity of the noise and the time of exposure to the noise. Short-term exposure of the human ear to a high-noise environment will cause temporary hearing loss, but this hearing loss recovers within 1 minute after leaving the noise environment, which is called auditory adaptation. Hearing loss caused by long-term exposure to noise can return to normal hours or even dozens of hours after exposure to noise. Reversible hearing loss is called auditory fatigue. If exposure to noise continues, auditory fatigue recurs and worsens, eventually leading to irreversible and permanent hearing loss, which is noise-induced hearing loss. The damage site is in the inner ear. Common pathological changes include lodging and shedding of auditory hairs, swelling, degeneration and disappearance of auditory hair cells. Changes in auditory hair cells are irreversible changes. When noise-induced hearing loss occurs, it is generally difficult to recover, and there is currently no effective treatment.

Generally, sounds less than 75 decibels rarely cause hearing damage. When exposed to noise, you should avoid being too loud, too close to the sound source, or exposed for too long. However, if you are exposed to noise above 80 decibels for a long time, you are very likely to suffer from noise-induced deafness, especially if the nature of some jobs is more special.
